Withers Branch Public Library is a single storey face brick and metal deck building designed with elements of the Late Twentieth Century Sydney Regional style of architecture. The walls are of face clinker bricks. The roof is of a skillion form and clad with metal deck roof sheeting. There is a clerestory window allowing natural light into the building. Windows are large aluminium framed as are the front doors. There are brick steps and a brick and concrete ramp up to the entrance level of the building.

History

Withers Public Library was established in 1985 as Bunbury’s second public library. The new library met the demands of the growing population in the Withers Estate area (See B065), the requirements of the students at the nearby Newton Moore Senior High School and the growing membership and collection of the Bunbury City Library.

In 2009 the Bunbury City Library’s main aims were to provide an information service to the people of Bunbury, as well as promoting informal education as a lifelong process.
