RETAIN AND CONSERVE IF POSSIBLE Retain and conserve if possible: provide maximum encouragement to the owner to conserve the significance of the place. Photographic record required prior to any major redevelopment or demolition.

Statement of Significance

Significant for links with Pappas and Menchetti families as well as Pappas Swamp Precinct

Physical Description

These two kilns are very difficult to access being located in bush on the ridge on the western side of
Neerabup lake. An inspection in December 2002 was the first time the kilns have been recorded as
located for nearly 20 years. They are 'D' shaped and are in reasonable condition, though extremely
overgrown.

History

According to Brittain the kilns were built by Pappas in 1955 and therefore are amongst the last built in
the district.
