Historic - one of the oldest farms in the Borden area. George Cheyne set up a private port at Cape
Riche before employing shepherds to herd his sheep further along the Pallinup River, this was when the
Pullingup Spring was discovered and Sandalwood was established.
Social - Sandalwood was a meeting place for those who settled in this area.
Aesthetic - A fine example of early settler buildings, in the style that the Cheyne Moir family chose for
many of their establishments.
Only

style brickwork.
Sandalwood is possibly one of our oldest settled farms. Built for George Cheyne. with convict labour,
and lived in by his nephew Andrew. Situated on the Pallinup River, near the Pullingup Spring.
