The place represents the advent of a private school in the Gelorup area, and has associations with the Anglican church.
Eli Allen originally owned the land before Arthur Maynard Jenour and his son Ted purchased it in 1946. Jenour had long been a supporter of a private school. Ted sold 72 acres to the Bunbury Grammar School Board for $60,000 on no interest terms. The Co-educational day and boarding school was a dream of the Anglican Bishop of Bunbury, Ralph Hawkins. Classes commenced in 1972 after many years of fundraising.
