Statement of Significance

The courthouse's significance is based on its aesthetic and historic value and its importance in the early development of the region. The precinct as a whole represents the social values of the era.

Physical Description

Sited in a prominent position, the court house is located within what is known as the Law and Order Precinct in Roebourne. The courthouse was co-located with the prison and associated facilities and forms part of a historic precinct which remains intact.

Constructed of granite, the building has gabled front wall, which features symmetrical ornamental designs and two high windows. On three sides it has a verandah under a separate roof, supported with iron verandah posts. The main roof and the verandah roof are corrugated iron.
