The place demonstrates a way of life, of community co-operation,
and the value of a water supply.
The entrance building is constructed of cream brick, and has a very low pitched
metaldeck gable roof.
Movements for pool in Kulin began during the 1950s,
but there was no water to provide the facility. In association with plans for the proposed connection to
the comprehensive water scheme, a pool was planned. The local community raised the money for
the pool. Sceptics questioned the cost of running the pool, and the community proved the need of
the facility by raising the dollars. Cropping programs were successful. The pool was opened on 18
March 1966 by the Premier David Brand, and the Comprehensive Water Scheme was
commemorated with a plaque, on a plinth in front of the pool building. It was unveiled on the same
day, by R Hutchinson.
