This place is representative of Inter-War suburban settlement and
makes a positive contribution to the streetscape. It has historic
value for its association with David Murray, a prominent local
identity within Bayswater.
Brick house wih tile hip roof covering a surrounding cement floored verandah with
steel pipe supports to the eaves. This verandah is approached from the street by
two small flights of cement steps. Front windows are of wooden top hung hopper
type.
The house was built by Bob Marshall Snr in 1924 and is still occupied by his
daughter, Dot Reardon. Previously, the family lived in King William Street, at one
of the houses at No. 9. The house is significant for its connection with a well
known identity and, further, is a good example of the type of solid, villa style
residence being built in the district during the middle 1920s.
