Statement of Significance

The place is of cultural heritage significance derived from the following reasons. The particular vernacular design of the Main Building and the simple utilitarian design of the Infants School Building. The place has historical significance as the government school for the former East Perth residential district. The place has a close association with Hillson Beasely, the Government Architect. The place is socially significant because of its association with families of a former residential quarter of the city. The place is representative of a Government School dating from the turn of the century. Refer to East Perth Primary School (fmr) Conservation and Management Plan prepared in July 1996 by Palassis Architects. The place is included on the Register of Heritage Places.

Physical Description

A single storied brick building with terracotta tiled gabled roof constructed in stages to the design of the government. Architecture now comprising a central space and fourteen former classrooms and service rooms.
