Historic- one of many bush schools located within the Shire of Gnowangerup.
Social- used as a meeting place for surrounding landowners.

Physical Description

20 x 12' corrugated iron building with concrete floor.
A plaque has been erected to mark the site.

History

Haxby School operated from 1936 with Miss Marie Barron as their first teacher in charge. In 1943 the
school was closed due to the lack of a teacher during the war.
Located on the Borden Bremer Bay Road this school is close to the Stirling Ranges.
