Statement of Significance

The site represents associations with the Rabbit proof fence and a
way of life no longer practiced.

History

The Rock Hole was blasted by the advance party for the
construction of the Rabbit Proof fence, to enable water to be collected from the rocky outcrop. When
the men came through and camped, the water was available. The Boundary Riders camp and stables
were maintained for many years.
