Statement of Significance
This type of system is significant to the area when surveying was done in the mid 1880's due to their elevation and gave accuracy of distance when maps were being prepared.
Physical Description
Geeraning Rock is situated north of the Westonia Shire. This magnificent rock has a large clearing as if it has been cleared recently. A small dam can be seen close to the well, with two aluminium tanks that have been used in some period close to the base of the rock. The rock has a panoramic views of broad acre farming and Yannamooning can be seen from the distance. The trig site is on the summit of the rock and has been marked with a silver plaque and the four points of direction. The trig point is a cairn of stones with a pole in the middle.
