This house, that in 1999 was used as an Adult Work Link, was built in the c1890's of stone and rendered brick. Despite a number of changes to the facade, the building still has streetscape value and aesthetic, social and representative heritage significance.
Some of the notable features of this place include:
- Prominent location - high streetscape value
- Granite foundation on mildly sloping site
- Rendered brick
- Corrugated iron roof
- Verandah across part of front elevation
- Timber front door, with French windows to right
- Cement rendered steps up to front door
Some obvious modifications include:
- French window
- Major alteration to front façade new extension
- Removal of chimneys
This is one of a significant group of houses in Frederick St with considerable heritage value. The building has been
leased to Adult Work Link since 1994 for retraining unemployed people. This building is a well-kept survivor from a
period of rail-induced expansion.
