Statement of Significance

The Church of Christ community was very strong in Morawa, particularly during the 1960s when mining stimulated development of the town. A resident pastor tended the needs of both young and old. With a declining population and poor attendances the Church is now used by the Seventh Day Adventists.

Physical Description

A steel framed brick and tile building of rectilinear plan, with front porch; the timber floor is suspended, with vents under.
There is a plaque of black and white marble, 46cm x 26cm, facing Dreghorn Street, with the following inscription:

This building was erected
to the Glory of God, and was officially opened by foundation members R. W. Barr, and G.A. Carslake on the 28th day of June 1958
