Statement of Significance

Historic - a Telegraph Office was ran by Mr John Copeland in 1916. this being attached to the railway,
line construction. The Post Office was opened in 1923 with Jack Harris, former mail route contractor
as it's Postmaster. Mrs Mary Copeland. grand-daughter-in-law of the first Telegraph Office operator
was the last Postmistress here before the mail service was transferred to the general store.

Physical Description

The Borden Post Office is now a residential house, but still has all the old telephone exchange
equipment inside. The front rooms are still as they were when the Post Office operated out of here
This was closed in 1983.
