The City of Fremantle has identified this place as being of considerable cultural heritage significance in its own right within the context of Fremantle and its conservation is a priority.

Statement of Significance

The place is of historic significance as a remnant of original residential buildings which existed in the West End until the gold boom.

Physical Description

Single storey Flemish brick partial façade, with only remnants of stone walls on the sides. There is a slightly pitched veranda with corrugated iron roof and timber chamfered columns. Currently (2008/09) undergoing major development for apartments of the site, retaining the facade while removing the reconstructed verandah and windows.

History

A brick house built c1890s and a warehouse. Demolished, although ruins of the house remain. For further information check DA 326/123. Currently (2008/09) undergoing major development for apartments of the site, retaining the facade while removing the reconstructed verandah and windows.
