Statement of Significance
Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical timber framed single storey cottage dating from the first decades of the twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area.
Physical Description
Single storey timber framed and weatherboard clad walls with ashlar effect and an aluminium tile (probably not original) gable and hipped roofed house. The roof has a brick chimney with corbelling and the dropped verandah is supported by turned timber posts.The following places form a significant group and contribute to the streetscape of Watkins Street; 84, 86, 88 & 90.
