This type of system is significant to the area when surveying was done in the mid 1880's due to their elevation and gave accuracy of distance when maps were being prepared.
Baladjie trig point is set on the highest point of the rock where you wil find a cairn of stones. With a pole in the middle. The rock is situated on the Eastern boundary of the Shire of Westonia going towards Bullfinch approximately 2km from the M40. Baladjie has a spectacular vast salt lake to the North East which runs from Lake Deborah in the Yilgarn Shire.
Baladgie is an Aboriginal name (meaning unknown). It was first named Mount Hardey by C.E. Dempster during explorations in 1861. It could not be used due to duplication of the name. It was recorded by C.C. Hunt in 1864 as Baladgin. H.S. King recorded the rock in his trig surveys as Balajie and Baladgee. The survey point is HK 2 on the summit in 1889 and is now shown as Baladgie on the TG Plan 313.
