Significant as an early residence in the area.
Timber framed house with fibro (asbestos) clad walls (probably originally weatherboard), corrugated iron roof. Door and windows typical of 1930s detail (casement windows). Hipped roof with skillion verandah to front, set in attractive cottage garden with fruit trees.
Believed to be the oldest house in the area and started as a small settlers cottage with four rooms, a passage and two verandahs made of corrugated iron and hessian with 2 x 4 jarrah uprights and bush rafters. The house is believed to have been built earlier than that stated pre-1900. It was gradually rebuilt and extended by Mr P. D. Stone to the current form.
The house was constructed from Dennis Nolan's original prefabricated building.
