History

The South Kumminin Siding was established in 1917 when the railhead was established at the Narembeen Siding. However the place had been an agency and store for the surrounding pioneer settlers for some time prior to the railway. In 1924 the Western Australian Bank branch in Narembeen established a sub agency at South Kumminin. In 1924 new premises were constructed for the South Kumminin Store. The sub branch closed in 1928 In the 1990s there was still the store, Post Office and Grain handling facility.
