History

The original school site is in the existing school grounds, where the Library is now situated. The existing school as built in 1933, after a meeting in Cadoux Hall when parents decided to raise funds for the school. A large number of railway construction workers based at Manmanning boosted the numbers of Cadoux School students while they were there. The school subsequently closed due to lack of student numbers, as the Education Department required a minimum number of eight students to retain a school. The school was then used as private accommodation before re-opening as a school. It was ceiled and lined in 1944, and a play area was cleared. In 1946, after Mr H Hansen's bus service began operating, the student numbers increased and it was necessary to use the hall for school classes. In 1948, the existing school was built, and the Free Kindergarten took over the use of the original school building.

The school continued to increase in student numbers and in 1950 a second school room for Cadoux was reloacted from Moningarin School. In November 1950, a third school bus was introduced and the numbers increased to 51 students. Another room was added in 1959, septic and water services connected in 1961, and in 1967 a school uniform was introduced.

The Free Kindergarten changed to Cadoux Play Centre in 1971, and affiliated with the Kindergarten Union, they were required to have a qualified teacher. By 1972, the Cadoux School needed the space and the Play centre went into recess. It started again in the hall in 1974, and later the Sports pavilion before getting a building which opened on 6 December 1975.
