Physical Description

Timber framed and fibro clad with a corrugated iron roof, the roof is hipped with a front
gable feature and a return verandah with dado height enclosure.

History

The railway line established a siding at Pingaring Rock, due to
the water supply, in 1931, and a settlement focussed around the siding, gradually relocating from
North Burngup, some 5 miles to the south east. The North Burngup School was relocated to the
Pingaring site (Lake Grace Shire) in 1938, and by 1954 a new school was built on that site, and the
teachers house was built over the road from the school, in the Kulin Shire. Prior to the government
provision of school teacher accomodation, the teachers were usually boarded with a local family.
