Curtis Bay, a natural environment with no built features, has cultural heritage significance for its historic associations with the American whaling ships, a landing place for stock, and for its aesthetic value as a picturesque setting.
Small stretch of coastline on Geographe Bay.
A picturesque beach and bay with a sandy shoreline contained by rocky edges, with a bushland backdrop and beautiful views out to sea.
Curtis Bay is named after Anthony Curtis. Curtis was a master of a coastal trading vessel and later owner of the Vasse-Wonnerup Estate. He bought Inlet Park from the Chapman brothers. The place was an anchorage for early whalers. It was also a landing place for stock and in recent history has become a place associated with leisure and holidaymaking.
