Statement of Significance
The main house was built in 1879, a date carved in stone at the front. It has served as a farm house without many changes. Shows a high standard of workmanship. The present owners are preserving and restoring to its former glory. A good example of an early homestead.
Physical Description
Situated within sight of the road 600 metres from Lockier River. Railway line runs between river and house. The house is set low into side of rise and comprises two buildings - the older a two room gable-roofed structure facing west with front and rear (filled in) verandahs, the newer a hipped roof building facing south, with verandahs on four sides, those on east and west filled in with stone of matching construction. Sash windows with timber lintels. There is a stone store with a tin roof further up the rise. The owners are currently restoring and repairing.
