The place is a good example of a stone residence in the Federation Queen Anne style, representing the expansion of Fremantle in the gold boom period of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
The place contributes to a substantially intact late nineteenth and early twentieth century streetscape close to the centre of Fremantle.
Single storey tuck pointed stone with rendered quoining house with a corrugated iron hipped roof with a corbelled chimney.The roof has faceted gables over the two front bays. This place contains a limestone feature.
According to the rate records a building was erected on the site in 1896 for Frank or Francis Henderson. Frank was the Fremantle Agent for F. R. Flindell, who were Cordial Manufacturers in William St, Perth in 1886. He also owned lot 946 in Quarry st and established a bottling works. Today this is known as the Dux building.
