SIGNIFICANCE;
Significant as one of a collection of gold-boom hotels, and illustrating the stylistic remodelling of the town which followed the boom.

Physical Description

A straight facade with parapet decoration and verandah design emphasizing the central entrance. The verandah balustrade is of a relatively unusual detail. Built in 1882 in the simple Georgian survival form then common to most buildings in the town, and remodelled with stucco facade and verandah in 1907.
