Statement of Significance
Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical single storey stone cottage dating from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area. Has undergone significant alterations but original form remains intact.
Physical Description
Single storey stone and zincalume hipped and gable roofed house, with two storey Colourbond additions to the rear. There is a chimney with corbelling and a bull nosed verandah which is supported by turned timber posts between the timber friezes.The following places form a significant group and contribute to the streetscape of Watkins Street; 84, 86, 88 & 90.
