The site represents a way of life associated with education.
After the first school (see Ref No.) became overcrowded and the
Education Department agreed to construct two new rooms, the School building were completed on
16 June 1925, and the school teacher's quarters on 25 July 1925. By 1929, extensions were made to
the place, and in 1935, it was connected to the town water supply. In 1932, the Governor General Sir
Isaac Isaac visited the school and a public picnic was held at the Greater Sports Ground involving all the
schools in the region. In 1943, the teacher's quarters were connected to the electricity system, it was
the last place in town to be connected. In 1948, repairs were necessary to the building, and a new site
for the school was mooted, due to flooding. In 1950, bus services were introduced to the areas west
and south east of Kondinin, and the school student numbers increased. By 1952, the student
numbers had increased, and classes were held in the CWA rooms in Rankin St, and the need for a new
school on a larger site was urgent. A new was constructed on another site in 1954. (see Ref No. 39)
