An outstanding example of architecture by Ivan Iwanoff one of Perth's highly individual and talented s
architects who remained away from mainstream design.
Removed from the Municipal Inventory by Council.
Individually designed and highly personalized house by Ivanoff, each element conceived as sculptural
expression exploiting a mundane material [concrete block] to achieve extra ordinary effects. Peter
Glenescer, the sculptor for whom it was built, and architect Iwanoff completed a cement block mural on
the wall in 1985. The smaller of the two houses was completed in 1983, the larger in 1985. Glenescer
worked with bricklayers to build it himself. They doing the manual labour, he the artistic sections.
