Statement of Significance

The building is a find example of the grand scale and florid ornamentation of the ate Victorian and Edwardian buildings in the West End streets of Fremantle. It shows the opulence typical to the period between 1890 & 1910 that saw the Gold Rush boom

Physical Description

An ornate two storey stuccoed brick building featuring a rich composition of architectural elements. Windows are adorned with arched heads and balustraded frieze at their base. In between the windows are pilasters with Corinthian capitals. The entablature above is enriched with decorative cornice lines and a balustraded parapet. The architectural purity of the building has been slightly affected by the lack of maintenance and unsympathetic alterations at street level.
