this house is an excellent example of a pre-First World
War timber cottage indicative of the second stage of residential development in this section
of Cottesloe. It is an important streetscape element reinforcing the historic nature of
Boreham Street.
an intact timber weatherboard double fronted cottage wiiicln retains H
unpainted face weatherboards to the front elevation, paired French doors to either side of the s
timber front door with side lights and fan-lights. The verandah retains timber posts and simple o
timber bracketing. The side weatherboards have been painted, and the cottage retains o
painted brick chimney and later corrugated iron roof. This building was constructed circa s
1915-20 when suburban Lot 103 was subdivided in the area east of Gordon Street extending «
Boreham Street to the Perth - Fremantle Road. It has retained a timber post and rail fence °
with cyclone mesh infill to the front boundary of the property.
