Statement of Significance
The place is a representative example of the architectural improvisation of structures built to accommodate miners. The place has historic value for its representation of die development of the Australian goldfields and associated social conditions for miners. The place is historically significant for its relationship with mining operations that took place at Gwalia between 1898-1963, one of the most productive gold mines outside Kalgoorlie.
Physical Description
The small dwelling retains an exterior brick chimney with metal flue, and a rear oven with an exterior metal flue. Some floorboards, remnants of hessian wall linings, and some ripple iron linings remain in the interior of the dwelling. A verandah has been added across the front elevation with lean-to metal screens.
