Significant as an Individual Building. Retain and conserve if possible: endeavour to conserve the significance of the place through the provisions of the Town Planning Scheme. Photographically record the place prior to any major redevelopment or demolition.

Statement of Significance

A substantial old home which although modified retains much of the onginal charm. It is sited next to two ±
other substantial homes 7 and 11 of similar vintage and together make an interesting streetscape in what §
is proposed as a heritage precinct.

Physical Description

An Edwardian bungalow [1905-9] of painted brick, cream with stucco string courses. The house has a
terracotta hipped broken back roof with a pair of gables to the front filled in with weatherboard and .
gables to rear extensions. Tall painted brick chimneys have plain corbelling. The verandah extends on
three sides with a cement floor and recently tiled front steps. Verandah posts are turned wood. There is
no freize or filigree now but may well have been eadier. Central front door is recessed between two front
bays set with pairs of double hung windows. The door has lights above and on either side and in the
central panel of the door. Side entrance has been modified when extension were undertaken c1990-2.
The pergola and garden walls, iron railings and security system are new. The gardens are also fairly
recent possibly the 1980s with palms.

In 1.913 G C. Bridgewood owned this house.
