High significance as one of the oldest kilns in the district

In January 2003 owner advised that kiln still extant, and whilst condition is poor original its use is
obvious

History

The kiln is believed to have been constructed by Brady, a home builder. Brady was also a contractor
for the Wanneroo Roads Board in 1935/6 for road building. This era includes the laying of limestone
for road. The kiln probably commenced operations c1930. It is unusual to have a kiln built on what
was the family's residential block.
