The place is an example of a stone residence representing the expansion of Fremantle in the gold boom period of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
The place contributes to a substantially intact late nineteenth and early twentieth century streetscape close to the centre of Fremantle.
Single storey stone and rendered house with a zincalume hipped roof. There is a bull nosed verandah which extends to the pavement level and enclosed with lattice.
In 1890 a cottage with four rooms appears on the lot. It is owned by Peter Farrell and occupied by William Bull, a carpenter.
