Statement of Significance
The site has associations with the supply of water and sustainability of settlement in the area.
History
The Government dam was built during the 1920s. It was later cemented when it was discovered that the dam leaked. It has a corrugated iron roof. It has provided a reliable source of water since its construction. In 1940 the school was located near Buniche Government Dam.
