Statement of Significance

Darradup School is of significance to the history of the development of the Nannup
district. It is significant to the history of education in the south west and is a good
example of a rural school from the period circa 1900.

Physical Description

Darradup School is constructed of timber frames and weatherboards with a corrugated iron roof.

History

Darradup School was the first school in the Nannup area and was established in 1900. The school was built by W. Higgins and R.G. McAtee and opened in May 1900. (Gilbert, 1973)
