The site represents a means of communication and a way of life no longer practised.
The mail box corner was in the vicinity of the dam, school, hall and sports ground in North Burngup. Mail box corner was the mail delivery point furthermost north from Lake Grace, and settlers in the vicinity collected or delivered their mail from this point until 1933 when Percy Byass's store in Pingaring became an unofficial post office, and the mail was delivered to that venue.
