Yelverton Mill Tramway route has cultural heritage significance as the path of the historic tramline that linked Yelverton and Quindalup. It helped to develop and sustain a part of the State’s early timber industry in the south-west.
Timber tramline route. The Yelverton Mill Precinct is a fragment of the original mill site. Little remains of the mill or settlement.
In the past, the tramway carried timber from Yelverton Mill to the Quindalup jetty. The precinct was well known for its timber industry. The railway was a major connector between the forests and the mill thus enabling an efficient conversion of raw material into usable products.
