The place demonstrates a way of life, and the community cooperation
which is the backbone of rural Western Australia.
The surrounding verandahs have been enclosed at several places. The
corrugated iron roof breaks pitch over the verandah. Timber posts support the verandah roof from
the rendered dado wall. A ceramic tiled flat facade has been added to the north side frontage and
a flag pole and the clubs name have been placed on the wall.
When the purpose built Karlgarin Club opened in 1953 it was a
new concept in the state. It was established by the sale of debentures to members. It was only the
second club in the state to give men and women equal membership.
