The building forms part of the remnant building stock which make up the historic town's fabric. 'Gold boom' architecture. Evidence of prosperity of post residents.
A single-storey Flemish bond brick and iron villa built c.1895. Features include a front bay window with wrap around bullnose verandah, original fine cast iron lacework and double hung sash windows with central front door.
This house originally had a front bullnose verandah only. The east verandah was added by the current owner in the 1980s.
The place is associated with the growth of Guildford in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
