Statement of Significance

An example of a tiny workers' cottage, pre 1901, possibly one of the workers cottages for the electricity and metal pressing mill in Curtin Street. It has nostalgic references to Colonial Regency architecture of a grander scale.

Physical Description

A very small Victorian cottage [pre 1900] with gable-ended roof of corrugated iron/zincalume,
symmetrically arranged with a pair of french doors on either side of the entrance door. Slender steel
posts with decorative lace brackets support the narrow verandah. These may not be original. The railing
is wrought iron of a later date as are the shutters on the windows. The walls are painted pebbledash.

History

In 1905 it was owned by Eustace Gordon, storeman.
