25542 Workers' Homes Board and War Service Homes Precinct, Fremantle
76 Holland Street is a single storey masonry and Zincalume house constructed as a simple variation of the Inter-War Californian Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are face brick to window sill height and painted rendered brick above. The roof is hipped and hipped gabled zincalume clad. The verandah sits under a separate gable roof and is supported by masonry piers and balustrading. The front façade has timber framed leadlight windows. There is a metal fence to the front boundary.
This section of Holland Street was developed by the Workers’ Home Board in the 1930s.
Post office directories list the occupant as James Falls from 1937 giving a reasonably accurate date of construction for this house. Falls was there until c1945.
Aerial photos show that the house was reroofed in iron between 1985 and 1995. The rear of the lot was subdivided c2014 but no house has been built at the rear as at 2017.
