Statement of Significance

As part of the Merredin Research Station, South Carrabin has some scientific and social value as a research station but has little historic value to its recent establishment

Physical Description

South Carrabin is a small collection of agricultural buildings associated with the larger Merredin Research Station. Ther are four corrugated iron sheds in one cluster, and another located some distance away.

History

South Carrabin was established in association with Merredin Research Station, which was established in 1905-1907. No additional historical information was provided in the Thematic History of Department of Agriculture Research Stations regarding South Carrabin. It passed out of Department of Agriculture ownership prior to 2000.
