Building forms part of the remnant building stock which make up the historic town's fabric.
Single-storey weatherboard and iron house c.1910. House is Federation style with skillion verandah and overhanging gables. Home had stable at rear, now converted.
Internal front rooms & hall have ornate pressed metal ceilings in excellent original condition. The verandah on the eastern side was converted and extended connection to main bedroom.
Weatherboard house built for W.D. Johnson MLA, friend and colleague of Labor Premier Scaddon. Mr Johnson was a long-time member of Midland-Guildford/senior Labor Politician and was involved in wheat growing as the Director of Westralian Farmers.
