An attractive and well executed Inter-War bungalow style residence on the main street of town, featuring local brick and other decorative features.
One of a group of important Federation to Inter-War residential buildings in Kojonup, particularly on the main street, indicative of the development of the town during the early to mid 19th century on the back of the agricultural economy and the supporting commercial services provided in the town.
It is linked to the Treasure family who were influential pioneers in the district. They were linked to other well known local families through marriage -Jones, Elverd and Norrish.
The present owners are restoring this Inter-War Bungalow style home which is situated at the southern end of Albany Highway on the corner of Anthony Street. The home is constructed of brick and surrounded by mature gardens. It has a high pitched corrugated iron hipped roof, sash windows, timber frames, high fireplaces, jarrah flooring and two wooden doors on the southern verandah. Three sides of the house have bullnosed verandahs which, at the rear, are enclosed with old asbestos.
Levi Treasure, son of J. J . Treasure, built this house in 1926. After returning from WWI service, Levi worked as works foreman for the Roads Board.
