The place emonstrates a way of life and associations with the development of the transport industry. It also demonstrates associations with an historical identitiy.
Timber framed and clad with vertical sheets of corrugated iron, The skillion roof falls to the rear of the property.
Max Holtfreter and his father moved into this vacant site. They live in a tent for several months, carrying on a trade as a wheelwright, horse shoeing and general blacksmithing. The dwelling and workshop developed on this site and his business prospered. M Holtfreter was the instigator of the Bruce Rock Voluntary Bush Fire Brigade, the first of it's kind.
