Statement of Significance

Wilyabrup Hall, a former single room school building, has cultural heritage significance as evidence of the Wilyabrup Group Settlement Scheme and serves as a reminder of one of the remaining local schools in the district.

Physical Description

A simple asbestos clad single storey with a gable roof and extended entrance porch designed in local vernacular style. The place was a simple Public Works Department single room school building. The building exemplifies local architectural design reserved for school buildings in the early 20th century. Its simplicity belies its significant use as a Government School in the region.

History

Wilyabrup Hall was a former Government School until being converted into a local hall in 1960.
