The place demonstrates a way of life associated with education.
Timber framed and clad with fibro cement sheets the corrugated iron hipped roof extends in a skillion over the front verandah which extends across the front of the house. The verandah has dado height walls, with a central opening corresponding with the central front door.
With the centralisation of Bindi Bindi in the district after the railway through to Miling in 1925, the development of the Tootra Soldier Settlement Scheme and the introduction of the bus service in 1951, the school population developed to the degree that the new teacher accommodation was provided.
