This place has great historic and social significance for the local community and is a pleasant and well maintained piece of landscape ringed by a variety of local trees.
Almost certainly named in honour of the Governor from 1903-1909, Admiral Sir Frederick Bedford, the park is centrally situated in Broome, is ringed by a variety of local trees (baobab; poinciana; bloodwood) and contains several relics and memorials associated with the development of the town. The Dampier & War Memorials, both designed by Marshall Clifton. A tramcar from the line which used to run from, the Mangrove Point jetty into the town centre. A pearl-diver's decompression chamber.
