STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
No 67 Glyde Street is a single storey house constructed in rendered masonry house with a corrugated iron roof in the Federation Bungalow style. The place has historic and aesthetic value with its contribution to Plympton's high concentration of worker’s cottages and associated buildings. It contributes to the local community’s sense of place.
The place has some heritage value for its intrinsic aesthetic value as a Federation Bungalow style house and it retains a low degree of authenticity and a moderate degree of integrity.
The rear additions and late modifications have no significance.

No 67 Glyde Street is a single storey residence constructed in rendered masonry with a hipped gable corrugated iron roof. It is an example of a Federation Bungalow style house that has been substantially remodelled. The front elevation is symmetrically planned with a central door and hopper light flanked by sidelights and double hung sash windows. The windows appear to have been modified from their original form. The facade features a replacement verandah. The verandah is a full width skillion roof verandah supported on timber posts. The front entrance has a rendered surround.
There are additions to the rear and a carport to the side.
The place is consistent with the pattern of development in Plympton and plays an important role in the pattern of development of a working class suburb.

History

Plympton is a cohesive precinct where most of the places were constructed in the late nineteenth century and the first quarter of the twentieth century. It is comprised primarily of homes for workers and their families with a high concentration of small lots with timber, brick and stone cottages.

No 67 Glyde Street is a good example of a house in the Federation Bungalow style albeit substantially remodelled.
